I am a Barbadian. I went to Guyana for the first Carifesta in 1972 and I remember it as a wonderful experience with wonderful people. As far as I am concerned, it was the best. One of the things that impressed me was the Woodside Choir and I'm happy to know that they are still there. I try to keep in touch with large singing groups in the Caribbean.

I recall with great pride the days I spent as a member of the Woodside
Choir.  When I became a part of Woodside, Aubrey Joseph was Conductor.  Bill
Pilgrim took over the leadership after Aubrey's passing.  I cherish the time
I spent as a member of the Choir and I remember fondly many who were members then and some are still members today.  I am delighted that Woodside is
still going strong. Congratulations Woodside!  May you continue to go from
strength to strength.

On this Xmas Eve night I sit in Chicago and think about the happy times I spent with this great choir and wonder what they are doing and where they are. The competition , the comraderie and the good times can never be forgotten. Happy Christmas and all the best for the new year.
